Biotech-Inspired Skincare: Dermoree
Right now, while you read this, your skin is working like a city that never sleeps.
It has walls that keep water in and the outside world out. It has messengers carrying instructions from cell to cell. It has repair crews that refresh the surface, and friendly neighbours, billions of microbes, that help keep the peace. Together they make up your skin's blueprint: the way your skin is designed to work.
Most skincare only paints the walls. Dermoree asks a better question: what if we helped the whole city run better?
A new kind of skincare, in plain words
Biotech-inspired skincare borrows from what biology has already perfected: tiny cell messengers, pieces of DNA, fermentation. It uses them to make ingredients that work with your skin instead of against it.
People are noticing. The market for biotech skincare is forecast to pass US$8 billion by 2031, according to Precision Business Insights figures cited by CNBC, because more and more people want skincare that is smarter, not just stronger.
Dermoree brings this idea into one multifunctional serum. It is an innovation of PT Sciencepreneur Indonesia Gemilang.

Meet the four helpers
Each ingredient in Dermoree has a clear job. Here they are, in plain words.
1 · The messengers: Centella exosomes
Centella (pegagan in Indonesian, gotu kola in English) is a leafy plant used in Asian traditions for generations. Exosomes, which scientists also call extracellular vesicles, are tiny bubbles, hundreds of times thinner than a human hair, that cells use to send messages to each other.
In laboratory tests, Centella vesicles showed antioxidant and calming activity. In mice exposed to UVB light, a gel containing the vesicles was linked to thinner, less inflamed skin after a week, compared with mice that received UV alone or a plain gel. Dermoree uses Centella exosomes from Japan.
2 · The renewal crew: salmon DNA
Pieces of salmon DNA, known as PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide), have been studied in medicine for helping tissues repair themselves. Dermoree's PDRN-inspired salmon DNA is made for skincare. It aims to support skin renewal and a healthier look over time.
3 · The balancer: niacinamide
Niacinamide is vitamin B3. Research shows that it helps skin make ceramides, the fats that help the barrier hold in water, and that it slows the passing of pigment packets to neighbouring cells. That is why it is loved for a brighter, more even-looking tone.
4 · The friendly neighbour: fermented honey
Honey is fermented with friendly Gluconobacter bacteria, which make gluconic acid for gentle surface renewal. The result is made to support a comfortable, microbiome-friendly skin surface. Research on honey and on fermented ingredients in skincare is promising, and scientists say more studies are still needed.
One serum. One simple routine.
Dermoree Multifunctional Serum brings all four helpers into one lightweight, non-sticky formula with a comfortable, breathable finish. There is no long routine to follow.

Good to know: how to read these results
- Small and early
- This is an early observation of five people, not a controlled clinical trial. Results differ from person to person.
- Ingredient research is not product proof
- The studies cited in this article look at the individual ingredients, some of them in laboratory cells or in animals. They are not tests of the finished serum.
- A cosmetic, not a medicine
- Dermoree is for the appearance and comfort of skin. If you have a persistent or inflammatory skin condition, please see a dermatologist.
Questions people ask
Is Dermoree BPOM approved?
Yes. BPOM approved it as a cosmetic under the name "DERMOREE Serum with Centella Asiatica", number NA18260110646, which you can check at cekbpom.pom.go.id.
Is exosome skincare the same as a clinic treatment?
No. BPOM has stated that products applied with needles or microneedles, or injected, are not cosmetics. Such products must be sterile and applied by medical personnel. That includes exosome products used in those ways. Dermoree is a serum you apply yourself to the surface of your skin, like any other cosmetic.
Who can use it?
Dermoree is designed for all skin types, including dehydrated, dull, acne-prone and sensitive skin. As with any new skincare product, you may wish to try it on a small area first.
Does it contain salmon?
Yes. Its DNA is salmon-derived, so it is not suitable for people who follow a vegan diet or have a fish allergy.
When will I see results?
Dermoree is designed for gradual, consistent support rather than an overnight change. The participants in the observation used it for a few weeks. Results vary from person to person.
Is it a medicine?
No. Dermoree is a cosmetic for the appearance and comfort of skin.
